Privacy Policy for Solo Test
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Introduction
Solo Test is a single-player peg solitaire game available on iOS, Android, and the web. This Privacy Policy describes what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. There are no accounts: you can play the entire game without providing any information about yourself.
Information We Collect
Local Game Data
The following data is stored locally on your device (via device storage / local storage) and is not transmitted to our servers:
- The nickname you choose, if you join a leaderboard
- Per-board statistics: games played, best result, perfect-game streak, and how often you reached each verdict
- Preferences: sound, vibration, language, theme, and selected board
- Whether you have already seen the tutorial
- A finished game's move list, temporarily, if it could not be sent while you were offline. It is retried on your next finished game and then deleted.
Leaderboard Data
Nothing is sent to a leaderboard until you choose a nickname. Once you do, the nickname and the result of each finished game are sent to our server so your ranking can be shown. A submission carries the list of moves you played rather than a score: the server replays the game to derive the score itself and rejects anything illegal or unfinished. Only your nickname and the derived score are stored; the move list is not kept.
Technical Data
When your device contacts our server, that request carries your IP address, as any internet request does. We use it only to count submissions per minute so the leaderboards cannot be flooded. The counter expires automatically within a minute and is never linked to your nickname, your score, or your gameplay.
How We Use Your Information
- Display the top 10 leaderboard for each board
- Verify that a submitted game was actually played legally
- Prevent flooding and abuse of the leaderboards
- Remember your statistics and preferences between sessions on your device
What We Do Not Collect
- No account registration is required to play
- No email address, phone number, or real name
- No location data of any kind
- No contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or other device content
- No advertising identifiers, ads, analytics, or third-party tracking software
- No in-app purchases and no payment information
Device Permissions
On Android the app requests internet access, so leaderboards can be loaded, and vibration, for haptic feedback. On iOS the app requests no permissions at all. Neither version asks for location, camera, microphone, contacts, or storage access.
Data Storage and Retention
- Local game data stays on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app
- Leaderboard entries are held in a hosted database. Each board keeps one entry per nickname, at that nickname's best score, and it remains until you ask us to remove it
- Rate-limit counters expire automatically within a minute of being created
Third-Party Services
Vercel
The web version and the leaderboard endpoints are hosted on Vercel, which processes requests and keeps standard server logs on our behalf.
Upstash
Leaderboard entries and the short-lived rate-limit counters are stored in a managed Redis database provided by Upstash. It receives only the nickname and score described above.
Apple App Store / Google Play
App distribution is handled by Apple and Google. Their respective privacy policies apply to any data they collect when you download or update the app.
Children's Privacy
Solo Test is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Nicknames are free text chosen by the player, so we ask that players do not enter a real name. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Choices
- Play without ever choosing a nickname, in which case nothing about your play leaves your device
- Choose a nickname that does not identify you
- Note that once a nickname is set, each finished game is submitted to that board's leaderboard automatically
- Remove all local data, including your nickname and statistics, by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it
- Request removal of your leaderboard entry by contacting us
Legal Compliance
- Apple App Store and Google Play policies
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for EU users
- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents
